Pakhlava is a handmade multilayered Azerbaijani pastry, with a very thin layers, which are buttered and sprinkled with a rich mixture of sugar and chopped almonds or walnuts, and covered with a sweet honey syrup.
The model was on display in 2014 on the special exhibition about plants of Caucasus (“Kaukasus. Pflanzenvielfalt zwischen Schwarzem und Kaspischem Meer”) in the Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin. The model shows the usage of the regional products like nuts.
