Kaupitherium bronni
Description of the model:
All the bones are separate and missing portions were reconstructed using other material. These reconstructed parts of the skeleton are marked in one- colour so as to preserve the appearance of the original fossil.
The entire skeleton is mounted on a self-supporting, inconspicuous wire frame and is hanging under the ceiling with a weight of about 25 kg using stainless wire rope.
The cast is made of a high quality epoxy resin and coloured using a UV-lightproof acrylic paint and varnish.

It was discovered in a gravelpit in Bottrop-Kirchheller Heide of Münster Lowland, Germany in 1988.

The reconstruction was based on a cast of the three dimensional prepared skeleton of Kaupitherium bronni housed in the museum Ur- und Ortsgeschichte – Quadrat Bottrop, Bottrop, Deutschland (QB-4/12.721).
