Upper Permian

Further Informations

The models of these Upper Permian dicynodons are intended to show the animals in a life-like situation, based on fossil evidence and scientific reconstruction. One of the animals is searching for food, while the other is lifting itself out of its burrow.

The models base on two nearly complete Diictodon sollasi Broom specimens housed in the South African Museum, Cape Town, South Africa. The size is calculated in comparison with tooth finds of the Korbach fissure filling of Korbach, Germany.
