The model is made of plastic. Three modules can be used and are held in position with magnets; the second module is supplemented by additional tree models. The floor modules are labeled with Braille and standard Braille.
The model is transportable and housed in a wooden case. All elements can be stowed in the lid for easy handling in the field. The model weighs 10 kg and can be carried by handles or pulled on a trolley.
The model was developed in cooperation with the Biostation Rösrath and tested by visually impaired members of the Blinden- und Sehbehindertenverein Kreis Kleve e.V. The Biologie Station Rhein-Berg Rösrath offers excursions to the graywacke quarries in the area with this model.
