Procynosuchus delaharpeae
Description of the model:
The model was made by Susanne Klein under the scientific supervision of Dr. Eberhard “Dino” Frey (Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Karlsruhe, Germany).
It was casted using high quality epoxy resin, reinforced with glassfibres.
It was coloured using non-fade paint and varnish.
There are five prepared cockroaches feeding on the carcass. Fossils of cockroaches are known from the Upper Permian Kupferschiefer of Germany. Each cockroach has a body-length of about 5 – 6 cm.
Dimensions
The body-length of the completed model is about 65 cm.

The reconstructed carcass is based on the described skeletal reconstruction of Procynosuchus delaharpeae Broom. The unique original skeleton of the cynodont Procynosuchus delaharpeae Broom was found in the Madumabisa mudstone horizon of the middle Luangwa Valley in Zambia.
