Description of the model:
The taktile model is based on the original fossil of Hoplites benettianus var. devisensis (SPATH, 1925) of the Lower Cretaceous in France, Troyes.
It is possible to feel the shell from inside and outside. The shell is dived into a number of chambers (camerae) separated by walls (septa), which become increasingly larger along the spiral. We show 5 chambers. The first chamber is called mantle cavity and the entire chambered part of the shell is called phragmocone. The suture is simplified and does not correspond to the specimen in order to allow feeling easier.
The model is made of white and black resin.
