Description of the model:
The model is based on the fossil, which is housed in The natural History Museum Karlsruhe and the scientific discription of Z. Rocek.
Z. Rocek: Taxonomy and Distribution of Tertiary Discoglossids (Anura) of the Genus Latonia v. Meyer, 1843. In: GEOBIOS, Volume 27, No. 6, S. 717−751, 1994.
The model was cast using high quality epoxy resin, reinforced with glassfibres and was coloured using non-fade paint and varnish.
The eyes are made of glass.

Locality
All finds of this species are found in the fossil sites of Öhningen in the South of Germany. The Holotypus is housed in the collection of the Natural History Museum of Karlsruhe (without No.). Two further finds are housed in the Paleontological Institut of the Zurich University ( A-II-27 / A-II-28)
Further Informations
Latonia seyfriedi lived about 12.6 – 11.2 Million years ago in the Middle Miocene of Central Europe. During this time a warm moderate to subtropical climate prevailed.
