The cast is made of high-quality glass fibre-reinforced epoxy resin and coloured with UV-resistant acrylic paints and varnish.
The eyes are made of glass.

Scymnognathus parringtoni is a carnivorous gorgonopsian therapsid (mammal-like reptile) from the Upper Permian.

The life-size model is based on the original skeleton housed in the Museum of Geology and Palaeontology at the University of Tübingen, Germany (U.28), which was found in the Karroo – Formation of Usili, East Africa and described by v.Huene (1950).
