The career of a Preparator

The title of “Preparator” was taken off the German trade scroll in 1956 and is therefore not legally protected in Germany. Nevertheless many people of course work professionally in the former trade of Preparator in the fields of Medicine, Biology and the Geosciences in museums, institutes and private enterprises. The only legally accepted name in Germany is “Officially acknowledged Assistant in Preparational Techniques” (Staatlich anerkannter Präparationstechnischer Assistent) in the respective field of activity.

We attach much value to a solid qualification, but do not offer any training ourselves.

Further information as to opportunities and possibilities of training in Germany and to the professional profile can be found here (unfortunately just in the German language).
